Purchasing a firearm at Lake County Arms

Important information for anyone interested in purchasing firearms at our shop.
The ATF Form 4473 background check will be completed in store.
A 72-hour (3 business day) wait is required on all purchases unless you have a valid Florida Concealed Weapons Permit. This wait period starts the day after the background check is initiated and does not include weekends and government holidays.
If you receive a Decision Pending Status upon initiating the background check, we cannot and will not release the firearm until the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has given an approved status. We will then provide you with a queue number and transaction date.

Online and peer-to-peer transfers

1. Give the seller our FFL license.

When you purchase a firearm online, we have to provide the seller with a copy of our license. You may download a PDF copy here and email it to the seller.

2. Have the seller ship the firearm to us.

The seller will ship the firearm to us. Please ensure the seller includes a current phone number and you insure the shipment.

3. Complete your background check.

When the firearm arrives, we will call you to come in and complete the ATF Form 4473 background check. Please bring in a copy of your Florida driver’s license or identification card. If the address on the license or ID card does not match your current physical address, you must provide us with a government-issued second form of ID.
